In just over a month this year’s Latitude Festival kicks off at Henham Park, Suffolk. As well as immense headliners Solange, The Killers, and alt-J, the line-up boasts a ton of up-and-coming names well worth sacrificing some campsite drinking time for.
In this fanzine I spoke to four such bands. London via Ireland trio whenyoung have toured with the likes of Peace and The Vaccines. Recently signed to Virgin EMI, their set on the Huw Stephens-curated Lake Stage will be a breath of fresh air. Lucia are an art-punk group from Glasgow who mix 90s grunge with essences of 60s girl groups; they are set to appear on the DIY Alcove stage. There’s also a chat with Bloxx, the Wombats-approved new foursome who have been relentlessly buzzed about since their emergence in 2016, as well as Sorry: the gloom-pop outfit are a staple feature on the current South London circuit and are signed to the prestigious Domino Records, home to Arctic Monkeys and many others.
